Annual Arboretum NEW ZEALAND GARDEN WORK party. BACK!

Arboretum Work Party - Details

9am – 1pm Saturday October 16th!

Join us for a very special weeding event – yeah nah, you read it right… WEEDING (not wedding 😊)!

Seattle Christchurch Sister City Association partners with the Arboretum Foundation to return to the New Zealand Garden for a fall work party to keep the garden in tip-top shape. We invite you to join us for some much needed maintenance and good old kiwi garden love, community building and meat pies! The weeding bit is 9 am— 12 pm, and then the eating bit (celebratory meat pies + beer to thank our volunteers) is 12:00 pm – 1 pm!

In addition to providing valuable support to the Arboretum, the work party is a great way to see how the New Zealand Forest is coming along and looking more and more like our kiwi home. We’ll be working with the horticulture team from the University of Washington Botanic Gardens for this event. They are excited to share their knowledge of the garden and the park (as well as make sure we don’t accidentally pull out an actual NZ plant)!
