Our Seattle – Christchurch Sister City Community are deeply saddened by the news of the Mosque attacks in Christchurch on Friday March 15, 2019. This senseless violence has no place in New Zealand or anywhere in the world. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those victims and their families as well as all those in Christchurch. We are lost for words and refer you to our Prime Minister's heartfelt messages published on Stuff.co.nz to New Zealand after the attack.

Making Connections Across the Pacific

Picture
The Association was founded in 1981 by a group of volunteers seeking to improve the people-to-people connections between Seattle, USA, and Christchurch, New Zealand.

Through sister city programs, grassroots citizen groups and local governments work together to promote international understanding and goodwill through person to person contacts. Out of the exchange of ideas and shared experiences, true friendships develop.

The Board of Directors meets in the Seattle area approximately once a month to plan the various activities of the Association. Please explore our site to learn more about what we do.
